An accident occurred at my workplace. A co-worker was injured. I was
subpoenaed to give a deposition in a civil case concerning this
accident. Are my expenses relating to this deposition deductible?

Not by the worker.
The business can deduct any expenses it had to pay though, in most cases.

Since you were there in the capacity of an employee and the claim is by
another employee (a matter arising from employment), I'd ask the employer
and/or the claiming emloyee if they'd reimburse you for the expense.

That would be the way I would go, but unfortunately the company went
under in '05. I could shoot a message to the attorney that took the
deposition. The dollar amount is only about $200, it may be worth the
effort. A reimbursement would be worth more than a deduction. Thanks for
the suggestion.
